Not sure what to say?

I will never ever forget him and the mark he left on my life for intellectual curiosity. He made me a lover of theology practiced by passionate people. He and Lola were exemplars of hospitality to students at the seminary. Walter "Buddy" Shurden Maryville, TN 37803

A formative influence in my theological development, he kept passion, reason, and history on the same spiritual plate. I say grace over him often, with deep gratitude that I fell in his pathway. The single best classroom lecturer I ever heard, he was friend, not professor, out of class.

My hearfelt sympathy to Lola & family. Dr. Robert Soileau touched the lives of so many, including our rural leadership program in Arizona. It was our great fortune to be with Dr. Soileau during a visiit to Louisana in 2003. His powerful & compelling message on leadership shall live with us always. May you find comfort in knowing that his life long success in cultivating a legacy of leadership will live and grow forever.

Dear Lola and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Bob's death. I had no idea he had serious health problems. He was a dear and special friend and I'm sorry Betty and I were unable to get together with the two of you recently.
Bob and I spent a lot of time together when we attended the Southern Community Development Director's meetings.
Your loss is magnified many times through the people who ceme in contact with him. Our sympathy goes out to you and your family. ...

Lola,
Emily and I were deeply saddened to hear about Bob's death. When we came to do graduate work at New Orleans Seminary, we met Bob and came to appreciate him for his schorarship, wisdom, humor, theological insights and gifts as a teacher of theology and powerful preacher. We remember our meals in your home and your welcome and support of the transplants from VA. When the going got difficult for me from one of the fundamentalist faculty members on my thesis, Bob helped guide the process...

Lola,
I was saddened to read about the passing of Bob. He was a gentleman and a scholar who helped shape many of the principles, practices, and purposes of education that I cherish to this day. In his own unique quiet way, he was a powerful influence on my thoughts and beliefs. Millie and I shall miss him dearly as well as the other members of the Williams' family. You are now our mentor and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Remember.... we are here for you. May God bless...

Lee Ann and I were truly saddened to hear the Dr. Soileau had passed away. His love, dedication and leadership of the Ag Leaders Program will live on for many years. He taught us many many things but, he showed us how to live by his example. I am very proud to have been one of his students. Bobby, he left you a great legacy!!

I attended NOBTS from 1961-1965.
Bob Soileau was my favorite professor, and he helped me to become the person I am today by opening my mind to truth; Thanks.
