Robert Mason Souter, 84 of Bedford died November 6, 2006 at his residence after a period of declining health. Mr. Souter was born November 20, 1921 in Arlington, NJ. He graduated from New Jersey schools and attended the University of New Mexico and the University of Arizona. He was married in 1942 to Claire Leonard, his high school sweetheart. They were married for 64 years. In 1942, he joined the Army Air Force where he trained in various engineering schools. He was a flight engineer on a B-17 Bomber during WWII. Bob retired in 1982 from the Hunter Division of Robbins & Meyers where he was a Regional Sales Manager. He raised four children in Glen Ridge, NJ. and upon retirement, moved to Bedford, NH, where he was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church. When Bob retired, he and Claire spent many summers at their home on Brantingham Lake in the Adirondacks where he enjoyed water skiing, sailing, boating and golf. Bob also loved to travel. He and Claire toured much of the United States, Canada, and Mexico in their motor home. They also traveled to England, France and Italy, but most of all he loved being with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We leave a loving husband, admired father, an adoring grandfather, and our best friend. He leaves his beloved wife Claire, his sons, Robert M. Souter, Jr. of Bedford, Donald Lee Souter of Marblehead. MA, John Lawrence Souter of Pomfret, VT. and a daughter, Linda Souter Ziehm of Merrimack, along with twelve grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Dorothy Souter Ronca, of West Long Branch, NJ and several nieces and nephews.

Souter, died November 6, 2006 in Bedford. Robert M. Souter, 84 of Bedford. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Friday, at 11:00 AM at the Bedford Presbyterian Church followed by a gathering of friend and family in Fellowship Hall.
