I was saddened to hear of Mr. Spicer's passing. I went to high school and played softball with his sons Bill, Tom, and Bob. Mr. Spicer was my Little League coach on the Scharringhausen drugstore team back in Park Ridge and he was always kind, encouraging, and positive -- and I was just one of the benchwarmers.
