Robert G. “Bob” Sprankle, 81
Robert G. Sprankle, 81, Punxsutawney, died Monday, December 10, 2018, at home.
He was born October 17, 1937, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Carmen (Harwick) and George Sprankle.
On January 9, 1959, he married Harriet F. (Schrack) Sprankle, who survives.
Bob was a graduate of the Punxsutawney High School Class of 1955.
He worked for the CSX Railroad as a car inspector for forty-three years and retired in 1998.
He was a member of the Scotland Avenue Church of God and enjoyed gardening, trains, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Harriet, he is survived by three children, Patty Cunningham and husband Phil of Punxsutawney; Donna Mancuso and husband David of Fairview; and David Sprankle and wife Stephani of Shippenville, PA; eight grandchildren Drew Cunningham and Shanon Blose, Sarah (Cunningham) Downer and husband Blake, Brandon And Nick Mancuso, Breanna and Abigail Sprankle, and Briana and RyAnn Crusan; two great grandchildren Kade and Knox Downer; two brothers, Richard Sprankle and wife Emmy Lou of Tennessee, and Larry Sprankle and wife Debbie of Virginia; a sister-in-law Sally Sprankle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Barnett and Nettie Domb, and three brothers, Merle, Ronald, and James Sprankle.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 14, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastors Kyle Yates and Mark Pollock officiating.
Interment will be in Valier Cemetery, Valier.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mr. Sprankle, to the Scotland Avenue Church of God, Scotland Avenue Extension, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
