Robert Stabler Sr.

June 24, 1928 - Jan. 9, 2019 Robert Ely Stabler Sr. (Bob) passed away January 9, 2019 in San Gabriel, CA. Born in Chadds Ford, PA in 1928, Bob grew up on a turkey farm. He attended the University of Delaware, graduating with a chemical engineering degree in 1950. He worked for DuPont Corporation, first as a research scientist, then as a sales representative. Bob first married to Faye Bullock in 1954 and had sons, Robert Ely Jr. (Susan) and Barton (Nancy), soon after. Daughter Amy arrived when the family had moved to Vermont. In 1969, Bob made the bold decision to quit his job at DuPont and move his family west to California, where he set up the business, Aero-K.A.P., Inc. Bob ran Aero-K.A.P. for nearly 50 years until ill health last fall forced its closure. After his first marriage ended, Bob married Carol Ann, and with her three children, Debra, Ross and Tim, formed a family of eight. The family grew with grandchildren Kirsten (Jake), Darla, Kathryn, Shannon, Asher, Anya, Grant, Trey, Abby and Veronica. Bob was smitten with his one great grandchild Isaac. An enthusiastic golfer, Bob was a member of the San Gabriel Country Club for over 40 years. But he most enjoyed sports, particularly attending USC football games with his stepsons and listening to the Dodgers' Vin Scully on the radio.
