Robert J. Starkey
Age 87 of Robertsville died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 in Aultman Hospital. He was born July 20, 1924 in Robertsville to Clarence and Pearl (Graber) Starkey. He is a retired farmer and retired from TRW Metals in Minerva where he was a foreman. He is a member of the Robertsville Christ Memorial Church, a graduate of Minerva High School in 1942, former Director of the Central Ohio Saddle Club, member of Stark County Farm Bureau, Canton Senior Golf Assoc., was a founder of the Canton Ski Club and was an avid woodcarver.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley (Hutchman) Starkey whom he married July 8, 1950; two sons, Tary Starkey of Robertsville and Robert (Anne Song) Starkey of Columbus; six grandchildren, Mason, Connor, and Daniel Starkey, Garrett, Shaylin and Shandal Revere; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Gage Revere. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Tana Revere; a sister, Helen Hickle; and four brothers, Ralph, Nevin, Kenneth and Donald Starkey.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Monday at 4 p.m. in the Robertsville Christ Memorial Church with Rev. Jeff Lord officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Robertsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robertsville Christ Memorial Church. Those unable to attend may sign the register at
