Robert Steele Obituary
Robert Franklin Steele, age 87, passed away December 2, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on November 28, 1925 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to Iza Dolores Gordon and Charles Franklin Steele. During World War II, Bob was in active service with the Royal Canadian Navy. Bob attended the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in Chemical Engineering. He married his eternal love and companion Joy DaNaze Spencer on January 31, 1946 in the Cardston, Alberta LDS temple. Together they had four daughters. He was a successful chemical engineer, a fine musician playing saxophone, clarinet, and piano; an avid reader and enjoyed golfing with friends and family. He was most happy being with his sweetheart, DaNaze, and spending time with his precious daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and expanding his life with his books and music.
Bob is survived by his wife, four daughters, Wendy, Marnie, Diane, and Lori, and brother Donald Vernon Steele. He was preceded in death by his sister Marjorie McNally and his parents.
Services will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11:00am at Cottonwood 11th Ward, 1830 East 6400 South, Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held the evening prior at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, from 5:00pm-7:00pm and at the church the day of the service from 9:45am-10:45am. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to www.utahsymphony.org or www.utahopera.org.

Uncle Bob was a favorite of mine. A member of the Bishopric in the Edmonton Ward our family attended, he was a fan of music, athletics and helped to guide many young men who have fond memories of his inspiration and interest in what we did. We love him and his family and join many others with our prayers for solace and comfort to be with his family.

Such a kind sweet man. When I had the opportunity to see him he always brought a smile to my face. His family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know Lori just adored him, and I can see why.
