Dr. Robert Stevenson will be remembered by many people for many wonderful virtues, but I will remember him first and foremost as a true gentleman. I first met him as an intern in 1986. He loved his patients and he loved mentoring medical students and those of us who were in training. His kindness was infectious and he truly felt it was his obligation to impart his knowledge to us. I was fortunate that Dr. Bob hired me many years ago to work in his wonderful medical practice almost 45 years ago. He taught me so much, particularly patience and generosity. Memories of him going upstairs to have lunch with Mabel still make me smile. He and Polly represented what true love and mutual respect was all about. I was blessed to have known him. Peace to all.
