Robert R. Stocker, 88, of Bangor, PA passed away Saturday, June 27th, at his residence.

Robert was born in Flicksville, PA on July 10, 1926, a son of the late Ralph J. and Rhada A. (Gold) Stocker.

He was employed as a conductor for the NJ Transit Authority, until retiring. Prior to that, he was employed as a brakeman for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad and for Conrail. He served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. Robert enjoyed keeping active by roller-skating, water skiing, motorcycling, dancing, working on small engines and spending time at the Jersey shore. He also enjoyed seeking out bargains at many local auctions. During his more sedate years, he enjoyed watching football and hockey.

Robert was a long time member of Flicksville United Church of Christ in Bangor, PA, where he served as a Deacon, Elder and was a member of the Golden Sunshiners. He was also a member of the Dyle L. Bray VFW Post 739 and the E.H. Evans Post 378 American Legion both in Bangor, PA.

Robert is survived by a daughter, Brenda Stocker, of Bangor; two sons, Bruce Stocker and his wife Janet (Schreck) Stocker, of Barrington, NH; and Brian Stocker, of Bangor. He is also survived by his former wife Evelyn (Hill) Stocker of Bangor. Robert was preceded in death by his sister Gertrude E. Bayless and his close friend and auction partner Joan Stevens.

Services will be held at the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, 314 S. First Street, Bangor, PA, at 11 AM on Friday, July 3rd, with Chaplain Larry Rissmiller officiating. Friends are invited to call Friday 10 - 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be held in Flicksville Cemetery, Bangor, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flicksville United Church of Christ, 1337 Lower South Main Street, Bangor, PA 18013.
