Robert L. Strohl, 83, of N. Catasauqua, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Robert and his wife, Jean R. (Hutnick) Strohl, celebrated 58 years of marriage on May 28th. Born June 17, 1935 in Northampton, he was a son of the late George E. and Hannah E. (Dilliard) Strohl.
Robert worked as a foreman at the former Bethlehem Fabricators for many years. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Macungie VFW Post 9264. Robert was a member of St. John Fisher Church.
Survivors: wife, Jean; sons, David A. Strohl and companion, Sandy Youngelman, and Joseph M. Strohl; daughter, Dr. Suzanne V. Strohl and fiancé, Eugene F. Downey; grandchildren, Nicholas, Sam, Charlie and Molly; and sisters, Emma Hartzell, Nancy Birosik, Shirley Eberhardt, Fern Pletchen and Janet Hagenbach. Robert was predeceased by his son, Samuel M. Strohl, and brothers, George, Carl and Erwin.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 29th at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Fisher Church, 1237 Third St., N. Catasauqua. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Burial will follow in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, Northampton. Online condolences may be submitted above.
