Not sure what to say?

Just yesterday August 28, 2016, I learned of Bob's passing last January 16th while reading our Alma Mater's publication, Northwestern Magazine. I have many fond memories of commuting (circa 1954) from Maywood, Forest Park and Elmwood Park, IL, to the NU campus in Evanston with our friend and fellow engineering student Donald Darge. We usually had the car radio tuned to WMBI out of Chicago. My wife June and I always enjoy exchanging Christmas cards and receiving the annual "Stronghold"...

Dearest Ellie,(family), words can't express our heartache with Bob's passing, it's a mixed feeling of knowing "to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD", and knowing your loss. But we are confident that you will continue to serve the LORD, and joy in his life, that "for Bob to live was Christ and to die was his gain". Sorry we didn't make his service. We didn't hear til Thursday. We will be remembering you and the family before the Lord, we love you!

You will be greatly missed.

Ellie and Family. Words can not express how sorry I am to hear of Bob's passing and that I am unable to be there to celebrate his wonderful life with you all. He was an amazing man which is demonstrated by the loving family he left behind. He was the rare individual who touched everyone's heart he came in contact with. He is the perfect example of how god would like us to love and will be greatly missed by those who had the fortune of knowing him. My heart and prayers go out to you all,...

Ellie and family, Our prayers and love go to you at this time of Bob's home going. A life well lived. He was so appreciated by the WSH class of '62.
May the Lord Bless you and Keep and make His Face to Shine Upon you.
Love, Dee and Floyd Ingersoll

Robert Strong, Beloved Disciple, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. His life, marriage and family have been, and will be, a wonderful message of the light and love of Jesus to the world.

Ellie and family
I enjoyed working with Bob at Chrysler and GT Products for many years. He was a great man, loved well, cared deeply and was a great support and example for Christian values at work and home. I am sorry at his passing since we will all miss him but I am sure he received a "welcome home, good and faithful servant" greeting from our Lord Jesus. Bless you all - and may God be very near at this time!

Phoebe Harris (Strong) was my best friend from 1st grade through high school. I spent a good portion of my childhood at the Strong family farmhouse. Dad (Bob) Strong is one of the most kind, gentle, sweet-hearted people I've ever met. He and Mom (Ellie) Strong had one of the best relationships you could hope to experience. The STRONGHOLD was just that...a home that surrounded you with kind, warm strength...a blessing for all who entered. Peace and love to the whole family.

Dear Ellie and family,
You and Bob are such treasured members of our WSH Class of 62. Bob was always so friendly and radiated God's love at our reunions. Our prayers are with you.
Fondly Carol and Ted Miller
