What I miss most about Bob, or as my sister (his wife), called him, Robert, IS Bob. I was overseas in the Army while they were dating and didn't know him until shortly before they married. I never lived near Cleveland again, so we met infrequently until I moved to Cincinnati in 1973. We would get together more frequently, at special occasions and when he was near Cincinnati.

What I most miss about Bob, or as my sister Linda called him, Robert, IS Bob.

Bob was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. He continued to maintain a healthy relationship with Arlene, his ex wife; his sons, Stephen and Brad, their wives and children.

I was overseas serving in the Army when he and Linda were dating. I never lived near Cleveland again, but we would meet on special occasions and whenever he was near Cincinnati.

Bob had a way of making it easy...

Enjoyed his columns and his book on Gaylord Perry. May he rest in peace.

Rip, my friend. You did good, real good.
