Not sure what to say?

Rest in Peace Mr. Sullivan, Still a little scared of you (Respect) after all these years!!

Mike, Dan and Kate,
I was so sorry too hear that the man who gave me my first job had passed. Always hard and firm with the guys and soft and easy with the girls, from push-up in the back to taking a break to swim laps. He will be truely missed.

Dan,Mike and Kate,
A tough man who could intimidate you by looking at you. At least to this 8 yr old. I was lucky to spend time with him just a few years ago at the EL track meets when my daughter and Kate's daughter participated together. I loved hearing his many stories about the Hampden House back in the day as well as many of the characters from town. Those stories brought back fond memories of Hampden and all the great people we grew up with. He was very kind to me and I will...

My condolences to a wonderful man and a wonderful family. Will never forget "Snappys"

I met Sully when he hired me in 1960 - I believe I was the second employee he hired at the Mt. View. I was a sophomore at Minnechaug, and I can honestly say that I learned many important life lessons from Sully. He taught me, and all subsequent employees, I am sure, to work hard, to treat all customers respectfully and honestly, and to enjoy the process of doing a job well.

A tough and rugged individual, Sully was always warm, caring, and considerate. He had an infectious sense of...

My condolences on your loss. Your Dad was one of my favorite people in the world. The last time I saw Sully was at my Mom's funeral, where I was able to sit next to him. Same hair, same big smile when he saw me. He got me hired for my first job as a janitor at Green Meadow, and I worked there for five summers and school vacations through high school and college. Just a wonderful man and a real character!

For anyone who didn't have the honor and privilege of knowing "Sully", it's important to remember the following:

If you looked up the term "larger than life" in a dictionary there should be a photo of Bob Sullivan.

All his strong opinions about politics, sports and religion were really just a way for him to get to know who you were and what your values were. He was lovable guy who thrived on his personal interactions.

Let there be no mistake about it: he DID hate the...

You're Dad was an amazing man. Some of my fondest teen memories are from when I worked for your family. Our trips to Hampton Beach and my first time in a Boston restaurant. I truly owe my work ethic to how he trained us to always stay busy. I will always treasure those memories and I hope and pray that each of you know the effect that he had on so many.

My condolences to the family at the loss of a great man, loving father and community servant. May his soul rest in peace.
