I first met Bob and Ann when they were showing cats back in the 1980's. At a cat show in Southern Virginia we met for the first time and soon became weekend friends at shows throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. At one point Ann showed alone while Bob spent weekends putting the finishing touches on his battle ship book. Always a delight to be around, I will miss both of them. The world is a lesser place without them.

My condolence to the family and to our community for the loss of such a giving human being. Mr. Sumrall's legacy will be remembered by the contributions he made to society but also in the many individual lives he touched through his compassion. Matt 5:5

Bob will always be in my fondest memories at USNA, and I lived in awe of his life experiences and knowledge. His kindness and sense of humor were truly inspirational. Oddly enough, he was also the man who convinced me to try sushi! The world has lost a great soul, and he will be missed.

We have such fond memories of both Bob and Ann, the Saturday nite dinners, 4th of July for Bobs Birthday, and the boat parade. We have all been so lucky to have them in our lives.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all right now
