Not sure what to say?

As I played my horn warm up using things I learned for Robert Taylor my wondering led me to this search. I studied with him at Oberlin. He invited me to his home and I remember enjoying time with his children. He was a fine kind gentle man! John Ortner

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

I had the pleasure of having Dr Taylor for Acoustics and Orchestra. He was an excellent teacher whose love of music showed everytime he spoke. I asked his advice about teaching when I was employed at a music store and he said" I learn more everyday when I teach". It didn't make sense until later what he meant. Thanks Doc....rest in peace

To the Taylor family, I regret not being able to attend the sevice. Dr. Taylor was a great influence on my life. In many ways he reminded me of my father. I was very fortunate to be taught by him in a variety of undergraduate classes, and especially, one-on-one conducting at the graduate level. He allowed me to see the brilliance of Mozart and Brahms, and discover Barber and Copland. We had conversations about Drum Corps, sailing, and the Navy that always will stick in my mind. His...

Dr. Taylor was a kind and patient man. I will always remember orchestra and theory class. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Taylor Family,

I would like to extend our sympathy to all of you at the passing of a truly great man. He had a life-long impact on Bonnieanne from her first horn lesson with her beloved Dr. Taylor to the last time we were under his baton with the College Community Orchestra. My fondest memory of him is that in the 5 years I played under his baton and attended Glassboro State, he was always so humble and considerate of everyone I ever saw him with, while being so talented. I...

Dear Dr. Taylor I am so glad you are now at peace. I always enjoyed going to orchestra rehearsals with you to the Bridgeton Symphony...you were a great navigator!! Also, you were a fabulous conductor, and I consider myself fortunate to have had the priviledge to perform under your baton. I'll never forget how you always took the time to make notes in your score so as not to forget to acknowledge soloists. The Glassboro Community Orchestra was the highlight of my week after a busy schedule...

Sorry I could not make it to the services. Dr Taylor was a sweet, sweet man and an extremely talented musician and I am blessed to have had the opportunity to study under him. The music world will really miss him...rest in peace, Maestro!!!!!
