Robert E. Thick

THICK, Robert E. - of Genesee Township, age 83, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Woodland Manor Assisted Living. A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison, Rev. John Grimshaw officiating. Burial in Richfield Union Cemetery with Military Honors by Davison VFW Post 4087. Family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in Robert's memory to the family. Robert was born in Flint Michigan July 7, 1927 the son of the late: William M. & Mame L, (Owen) Thick and had resided in the Flint area his entire life. He was joined in marriage to Barbara Delaney in 1948 and she preceded him in death August 13, 1991. Answering the call of his country Robert served in the US Army during WW II. He was a member of Davison VFW Post 4087 and UAW Local 581. Robert had been employed by General Motors, Fisher Body Division for thirty years retiring in 1978. He leaves to cherish his memory: children, Kathy and husband Mike Flynn, Dennis and wife Joann Thick, Richard and Linda Thick, Lewis and wife Pat Thick; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brother Rev. David and wife Sandra Thick; sister-in-law, Irene Thick; and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by brothers, Homer, Raymond, Freddie, Bill and Tom; and sisters, Hazel Trumbull and Mary Ella Reynolds. Share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
