It was an honor to have served with Staff Sergeant Robert C Thornton at Fort Hood Texas. He was a good Man and I consider it an honor to have known such a good person. You will never be forgotten and on this Memorial Day may all those who served with you take a moment to remember you. "May we meet again in Fiddlers Green"

SFC Marcell R Wright (Friend and Fellow soldier from 1/7 Cavalry "GARRYOWEN")

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. Thank you Staff Sgt. Thornton and family for your service and ultimate sacrifice. You will ALWAYS be an Alabama/American hero and WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!

In Memory of Robert ~ (Debra Estep)

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you...
