Robert Trahms Obituary

Robert George Trahms, M.D. (1934 - 2014) Passed away September 30, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. A brilliant and charismatic psychiatrist, he is survived by wife, Nancy A Trahms, M.D., his sons, Robert Gustav Trahms (Lisa) and William Nathan Trahms, D.C. (Valerie), his brother, George D Trahms, M.D. (Carol), his sister, Mary Trahms Rehwaldt (Harold), his grandchildren, Matthew Karl Trahms, Brandon Christopher Trahms and Abigail Grace Trahms. Dr. Robert Trahms graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A., B.S., and M.D. degrees. He interned at San Jaoquin County Hospital and had his residency at Stanford University and St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco. He served as an air force officer for two years at Travis Air Force base during the Vietnam War. He practiced psychiatry in the Bay Area for many years until his retirement in 1996. In the later years he pursued his many interests including botany, landscape architecture, German, biology, the arts, and philosophy. He is fondly remembered by the many whom he help achieve their intellectual and spiritual goals. May he rest eternally and go peacefully into the hereafter.
