Master Sergeant (MSGT) Robert L. (Bob) Tuller, U.S. Air Force, Retired, age 87, of Flatville died Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his home.


Bob was born August 14, 1938 at Shaw, Colorado to Noah and Olive (Stewart) Tuller; they preceded him in death.  He attended Snyder High School in the class of 57.


Bob had four children (three daughters in Arizona and a son, Aaron in Rantoul) and one sister, Ruth Tiff of Fort Morgan, Colorado.


He retired from Chanute Air Force Base as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force (21 years, 27 days, 1955-1976) and later worked 16 years in Civil Service, (Instructor Supervisor/Course Supervisor Weather Training and Training Manager) for the Air Force, retiring in 2000; as a GS-12 Training Manager.  Military assignments:  Parks AFB, CA. Basic Training; Chanute AFB, IL for Technical Training as a Weather Observer; Duty assignments:  Clovis AFB, NM (renamed  Cannon AFB); Sondestrom AB, Greenland; Davis Monthan AFB, AZ; Thule AB, Greenland; Chanute AFB, IL (Instructor duty); Galena AFS, AK (NCOIC of the weather station); McConnell AFB, KS (Chief Observer (NCOIC) of the weather station); Chanute AFB, IL (Instructor/Course Supervisor); Keesler AFB, MS (Instructor/Course Supervisor, Training Specialist, Training Manager).


He graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BA in Education in 1983 and an MS in Technology Education in 1984.


He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Flatville, IL; life member of Rantoul Masonic Lodge 470 AF & AM; 32nd degree AASR, Valley of Danville, IL, Life Member of Rantoul American Legion Post 287; Air Force Sergeants Association; The Retired Enlisted Association; Life Member of the NRA; the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS); Illinois State Rifle Association, and Guns Save Life.


A visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Diers Hall, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Flatville is handling arrangements.


Funeral services will be held in Brush, Colorado with interment and full military honors at Glen Cemetery in Washington County, Colorado.

Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. As as previous student (Chief Observer course) to working with him as an instructor (Weather Observer) he was always teaching you the correct way to do things. It was because of him that I came back to Chanute as instructor. A lot of people are much better today, having Bob as an instructor. RIP
