Not sure what to say?

Regrettably, I only recently learned of Bob's passing.
I shared several years with Bob through college and slightly beyond. One of my earliest memories of Bob, from summer 1974, Bob wearing denim overalls, smoking a cigar and doing handstands in the middle of the street...he had me at the handstand.
Bob was a dynamic individual whose unique way of looking at the world and expressing his thoughts and opinions made him one of the most interesting and charismatic people I have known....

Hearing about Bob's death triggered a flood of memories - many of them from a long way back: grade school classes & field trips at South City View, visiting the new house when he moved to Bridlespur, helping Bob and Mike Ammon hold down the infield in the baseball years. Bob was very bright, funny, and always a solid friend. Life leads such friends down different paths - and it's too bad we didn't keep up in later years. I'm sad to hear about his disease and death. My deepest condolences to...

I was a friend, neighbor and student with Bob from grade school through our high school years. I have many fond memories of Bob - riding to football pratice in his Opal GT or traveling to a track meet for another pole vault win. I was not able to maintain our friendship after college, but his memory will live with me forever. My condolences to all of his family and friends.

I wasn't priledged to have met Bob before his debilitating disease. But, I do know that Bob loved his nephews John & Thomas SO much. It was painful for him to get around, difficult to be in public. Yet he would attend sporting events
(John John's football games) to cheer on his nephews. It was obvious how much family meant to Bob.
I'm sorry for your loss of a brother, an uncle and a friend. Bob is now released from his frustration and pain. Where Bob is now there is no...

I worked with Bob at Brown & Root in Houston after college. He was a wonderful friend with an incredible wit. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved skiing, sailing and windsurfing. He also loved cars…especially his RX7s! Bob had a lot friends and was incredibly honest. I don’t think anyone could make me laugh as much as Bob could. I miss him a lot.

Bob always had a dry wit, a quick sense of humor and a kind word. The White Cross has gained new luster by his life. In Hoc, Jay Shields (St. Louis, MO).

Bob was such a special and close confident throughout my high school years. I particularly remember his strong convictions and passion towards life.
He was very protective of those he was close to and for that I have never forgotten him.I was very sad to read of his death.
My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to all of the family.
In loving memory,
Terri Swartz

Godspeed Bob!

Bob was my pledge brother in Sigma Chi and a great guy. He was a very unique individual with different talents, temperaments and convictions than most people. That is what made him special. We'll miss you Bob!
