UPTIGROVE, Robert Keith - Of Grand Blanc, age 86, died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. Visitation 11 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, where the funeral service will be held 12noon Monday, Gary Uptigrove officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesys Hospice Care Center. Robert was born in London, Ontario, Canada on September 22, 1923. Robert served in the United States Army for 3 years and was on the Island of Okinawa when the war ended. He was employed with General Motors and retired in 1980 after 38 years of service. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Angeline (Lena); two sons, Michael and wife Marianne of Madison, AL, Gary and wife Kathy of Chelsea, MI; four grandchildren, Dr. Josh and wife Dr. Christy Uptigrove of Holt, MI, Rebecca Uptigrove and Cameron Uptigrove both of Madison, AL; Trish Uptigrove of Ann Arbor, MI; sister, Margaret and husband Forrest Ault of Livonia, MI; many nieces and nephews. Many thanks to Dr. Swamy and Dr. Peram. A special thank you to Dr. Frey and his staff and to Chris Jackson and Julie Bleicher of Genesys Hospice Care. How is this possible to loose two dear family members in such a way. We are so sorry for this loss. Bill and Emily

Diane and I remember Gary from Flint Baptist Temple, in the early 70's. I also was a fellow employee with Gary, at Chevrolet Assembly. You are in our prayers. Robert is with the Father now.
