Not sure what to say?

Bob was my dad’s best friend throughout all of their adult lives and Georgia made my mom’s wedding dress in 1954 and mine in 1974. Many, many memories of Bob and my dad (Mayo) and they always involved a great story and humor. Bob and dad can reunite and ‘carry on’ from above. Rest In Peace Bob, but keep the stories coming! Hugs, Diane Wehage-Harvey (Stedman)

To the family...you have my deepest sympathies. My father Jack N. Swigart was in the service with him ,they were good friends. And I have kept in contact with Robert over the years.
Sincerely, Jack Swigart

We were fortunate to have Bob as our neighbour for many years and we have very fond memories of our time living next door to him in Portland. He was a generous and helpful friend and always cheerful. Even after we moved back to Australia, Bob would write and send photos, regularly updating us on our old neighbourhood. Our condolences to Bob’s family. From Fiona, Michael, Lachlan and Imogen.

I met Bob when I moved into the neighborhood 44 years ago. He was very helpful; in fact, Bob was my handyman for many years. The last fence he built for me is still standing. Bob will be missed.

As a former PPB officer who didn’t have the pleasure of serving with Robert, I nonetheless wish his family and loved ones well and hope their loss is mitigated to a degree by the knowledge that he clearly lived life well and fully.

All the best,

Jason Saunders

Bob was a wonderful friend to me and my late husband George. We enjoyed the fellowship of the Footprinters organization for many years. He was especially caring to me after George's passing in 2018. He'll be greatly missed.

I'm sorry to hear about this, but glad that it was peaceful and dignified. My only regret is that we can't all gather together to see him home. When he arrives there, I hope Stan Musial and all the great old Cardinals are standing behind Georgia at the gates. He was the head of a terrific, involved and generous Portland family. Rest in victory, Officer.
