We will always be thankful and appreciative to Mr. Vester for all his wisdom and knowledge he shared with our classrooms and schools throughout the years. The kids at school always looked forward to Mr. Vester's yearly visits to Gilmore Elementary School(North Tonawanda) and Akron Elementary School(Akron, NY). The students really learned to respect other cultures and traditions thanks to Bob. He was a special friend.

My prayers, thoughts and love are with you all. I only wish I could be with you. I mourn his loss. Uncle Bob was a life-long friend of my father's, he helped bring all three us into this world has been with us ever since. He will always live in my heart with love of life, love of our Native American culture, and love of helping children with love, positive energy and encouragement. Whenever you saw him, he reminded you that their truly is a Great One, and we should celebrate and enjoy...

I first met Bob as a young Social Studies teacher at School #1 in Buffalo in 1969 where he was greatly involved with the native American Community there. He helped me to include Native American culture into my lessons and was a wonderful man who was kind to all. May he rest in peace and may God comfort those who mourn his loss.
