Not sure what to say?

Dr Walter's was my physician and did hand surgery once. He was the best. Sorry to hear of his untimely passing

Simply put, Dr. Walters was the best surgeon/doctor I have ever interacted with. These days, you rarely feel like your doctors truly care about you and Dr. Walters was the clear exception to this. I was his patient in 2005 and again in Sept of 2010 and he was so amazing at drawing pictures to explain a situation as well as making sure you understood the upsides and downsides to any procedure. His patience, wit and knowledge not only eradicated my fears, but also made me infinitely...

He was what surgeons were meant to aspire to but rarely can be at the same time; professional, knowledgable, caring and very human. He had a sense of wit and brevity that meant you understood your options in a few moments without panicking. I will miss my few interactions with him greatly and hope the family recognizes what a rare and magical individual he was.

I have enjoyed my visits with Dr Walters over the years, took my son to him as a little boy and then when grown, such a pleasant man and Doctor. He always took the time to make sure you understood your condition. He called you in from the waiting room, took you to your room, took your x-ray and then developed it himself. He would draw exactly what he felt the problem was and always made light of his skill if you mentioned it. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family, who shared...

Bob Walters changed the way I practiced medicine.
Radhi Kakarla M.D.

It is with a very heavy heart I send the Walters Family my deepest sympathy. Dr. Walter was one in a million and his legacy is one you all are very proud of I am sure. I actually saw him on November 8th. at about 4:30 pm and had a great visit with him and for that I am grateful. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his Family that he loved so much, I will remember him always as he was a great person and a wonderful doctor. I hope all the memories you have will give you much comfort as you...

I can only echo what everyone has said: great doctor, great bedside manner, great drawings, patient with his patients, kind, considerate...he took care of three different hand incidents for me--and only operated twice! Pretty good for a surgeon! You could tell he loved his family--but the man had a capacity for love that is greater than most folks I know. My condolences to the family...he touched so many lives that he lives on in all of us.

I have known Bob Walters since I came to Austin in 1994; we would visit in the surgery lounge on Friday mornings or Saturdays waiting for cases to start. Bob was warm and reminded me of my tall midwestern uncles ( my parents are from Chicago). I would talk about my young daughter and he would speak of his children's progress and would often speak of his wife. I admire a man who is proud of his wife and family and values them. Bob has been a wonderful physician, as so many have recounted,...
