The passing of Bob Watchmaker closes the door on a career in fashion that started after he served his nation during the Second World War. I worked for Bob for eleven years and under his tutelage learned the ins and outs of the women's fashion business. He was tough, always had a pipe in his mouth, but openly shared his expertise.
