WATTERS, Robert T. - Of Flint, age 78, died Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.


Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Thursday, August 8, 2019 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint, Father Thomas Firestone officiating.


Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.


Visitation 9:30am Thursday at church until the time of the Mass.


Robert was born in Flint on September 24, 1940, the son of the late Samuel and Helen (Downer) Watters. Robert retired as Captain of the Genesee County Sheriff's Department. He was also a United State Air Force Veteran and a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Flint.


Surviving are children, Jeff (Deborah) Watters of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Jason (Kathleen) Sexton of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Bobby Watters of Genesee, Michigan;


grandchildren, great-grandchildren and in-laws;


and many, many special friends.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia.

i would like to say i heard of Bob Watters from my Dad who told me awhile
back that Bob trained him on the Sheriffs dept. in 1968 and my Dad had nothing but kind words to say about Bob.my Dad was born in 1942 and passed away April 2018 at 76,RIP Bob and Patrick are families will miss you two tremendously.

Bob WS a great man helped on several ocasons I once took him and my uncle bill lanming to Detroit tigers game in my father ray Chamberlain's motor home was great time cut up tree in his yard hauled away as a favor returned he was very happy I was happy to do it for him

Bob and my Father went to school and played baseball together in Beecher. I got to know Bob when we played softball together. Always enjoyed running into him at lunchtime. He will be missed.

Sorry to hear of the passings of Bob Waters and John Nickola, my left and right guards on the football team. I have many happy memories of our days at BHS and at my parents restaurants lunch counter actross the street from Dianes trailer court. My condolences to family and friends.

Known Bob from early days at GCSD he was a great buddy and was a people person will miss his wit and humor

He was the best there is!!!

I first met Bob in 1971, and recently, I will miss seeing him at the Bristol Road Tim Horton's. He was a great man.
We served together at the GCSD for many years.

Im going to miss our visit when you came in to get your haircut. You always had a smile on your face and a positive attitude!! You always made my bad day turn good! RIP my friend!! My prayers go out to your family and friends, youll be truly missed by many!!
