Chambers Funeral Homes - Cleveland Obituary

Robert Earl Weeks, age 60, passed away on January 22, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio after years of serving as an inspiration to those around him as he battled numerous health challenges. The “Energizer Bunny”, as many thought of him, is finally resting.

Beloved husband of Rhonda (nee Goldsmith); loving father of Amanda; son of Jeanette (nee Ruskey) and the late Merle; brother of Lois Shuptar (Doug), William "Irvin", Steve and the late Sandra Weeks Rosas.

Bob grew up in East Lansing, Michigan, and after graduating from Michigan State University’s School of Hospitality Business, began working in hotel management with Helmsley Hotels, holding positions in Lansing, MI, Huntsville, AL, Atlanta, GA (where he met Rhonda) and ultimately, Cleveland. From there he moved into retail supermarket management for several years with First National Supermarkets until deciding to venture out on his own as a small business owner. Starting in 1999 with the Week’s End Tavern, he subsequently purchased a car wash, two storage units and then circled back to his original passion of hotel management by acquiring the Comfort Inn & Suites in Streetsboro, Ohio.

He was an example to many of what it means to work hard and make something of yourself, and he will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched over the years.

Not sure what to say?

Heard the news today from Jason when he called in about tech support :( . I was lucky to meet Bob about a year ago and he was definitely and inspiration to me. Bob never expressed in detail what he was going through but I will say he was always positive and never complained about anything. He left a mark with me and I'm grateful for getting to know Bob for the short time I did.

Prayers for all the family and so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry and my heart goes out to Bobby's family and all the many hearts he's touched over the years.

Bobby was such a great friend during my high-school and college years. To say we were young and crazy would be an understatement. From day trips to Chicago, Cedar Point, and Lake Michigan, to all night chats solving all the world's problems while working at the Kellogg Center we had the best of times.

You often made me laugh; you often made me think; even more often you...

Bob had so many health issues, but when you interacted with him you would not know it. We at Weeks End would ask crazy requests from him, always yes sure, no problem, glad to help. What an inspiration he always was to me, I adored him. Love and prayers for his family at this time.

Sorry for your loss

How fortunate for all of us who have met the Weeks Family. Bob always brought a smile to our faces. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Bob and Rhonda are a special pair. We are so blessed to have met such a loving couple.

To all of Bobbys family I send my deepest regrets upon hearing of his passing. May God watch over you and help you through this difficult time. Hang on to all the memories you have of him and cherish them, no one can ever take them away from you. Sending hugs and kisses to you all. Please know Id be there if I could be. Aunt Betty

So sorry for your loss, Bobby was my cousin and it has been about 40 years since I have seen him, totally shocked to read this tonite. Bobby was one of my favorite cousins, will never forget the weekends at Chippewa Lake on the Hobbie Cat. So sad I will never see you again cuz! RIP
