Merced, California - Bob went with God March 2nd, 2023. In Bobs Air Force past, he was a Boom operator on the B-52 bombers while stationed at Castle Air Force Base and went on to own his own business, CO-OP Security Services. He was a man of honor, integrity, loyalty, & honesty. He married Shirley Rogers February 29th, 1964. They renewed their vows on their 45th anniversary & remained married until his death, celebrating 59 years of marriage. He always put his family first. He said what he thought and voiced his opinion. (Often loudly with a few curse words thrown in.) He was a father figure for many, including employee's and mentor to any who asked. He alway's had a soft spot for babies and children. He was the tallest of the 5 Werlein boy's, but give him a baby and he was so incredibly gentle and sweet. Everyone that knew him loved him. His voice was a gift he shared with his family. Often singing aloud to Elvis & serenading his wife for all to see. Bob was a lucky casual gambler and enjoyed watching concerts from their Era such as Everly brothers, The Righteous brothers and The Temptation's at Silver Legacy Casino. He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him. He survived by his wife Shirley Werlein, His brother's Victor Werlein & Gary Werlein, his Children Lori Werlein, Teresa (Steve) Johnson, Michael (Megan) Werlein and Paulette Werlein along with his 12 grandchildren and 7 of his great grandchildren. Preceded in death by both parents, two of his brother's and eldest son Robert Werlein. VISITATION- March 12th at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.11 am - 1:30 pm.
