Robert Francis Westhoff

WESTHOFF, Robert Francis - Of Flint, age 90, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Saturday, March 8, 2003 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Douglas Osborn officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or St. Jude's Hospital. Visitation 11AM- 2PM and 4-8PM Friday at the funeral home. Bob was born in Lansing, Michigan on December 17, 1912 and was the son of Francis and Harriett (Vanderhoef) Westhoff. He married Eva Marie Diem on September 7, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio and she preceded him in death on October 4, 1987. Bob was a member of Flint Elks Club. He was an avid golfer, bridge player and photographer. Bob was employed by Barnes Press, Curtis Printing and Spencer Printing, retiring in 1982. Surviving are his daughters, Dr. Mary H. Westhoff of Dexter, Joan E. and husband Dennis Plamondon of Clio, Janet M. Westhoff of Flint, Edythe W. and husband Walter Peake of Flint and Mara E. Markovs of Dexter; 3 grandchildren, Robert W. Plamondon of Olathe, Kansas, Edward J. Plamondon of Chicago, Illinois, Mary Ann and husband Patrick Koelzer of Livonia; 2 great-grandchildren, Eva M. and Natalie J. Koelzer; sister, Helene R. and husband James Smith of Flint; close friends, Bob and Helen Woody of Flint; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eva; parents; brothers, Alois, Earl and Walter; and sister, Genevieve Schneider.
