Bob was very instrumental in keeping our corporation afloat during some very tough economic times. LMCO Orlando would not exist today were it not for his leadership.

Bob Whalen was a `one-of-a-kind´ leader who was inspirational, energetic, and truly fun to be around. He was, both literally and figuratively, larger than life, and I had the privilege and pleasure of working for him in the early `80s at Martin Marietta in Orlando. This was the time when MMO won both the LANTIRN & TADS/PNVS programs, and, through Bob´s inexorable persuasiveness with the Army Missile Command, positioned ourselves to go from sub to prime contractor on the Hellfire missile...
