Not sure what to say?

Here was this guy in line at the Cathedral of St. John downtown. The line was for the confessional, the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This is one of the most important in the Catholic faith. He was behind me. He said, as I was about to go in; I'll be praying for you . I had no idea how he knew that I needed this reassurance! It was an awesome moment as I exited the confessional. He gave me a thumbs up I returned the same. He then asked me to pray for him. Later, I'd catch his picture in...

When I was still a medical student on a rotation in surgery, Dr. White was incredibly encouraging that I consider a career in neurosurgery. I decided to follow his lead and in fact completed a residency in neurosurgery at CWRU.

I loved the experience and went on to practice as a neurosurgeon for many years. My only regret is that I didn't seek a position at an academic medical center where I could have contributed more.

Dr. White always lived his faith. He had a great sense of...

Dear Patty,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. As you know, my husband died before our 2 nd wedding anniversary, and my son called my dad "DAD", and last summer he died in front of Isaac. People ask me what I do...well, I pray really hard and I know that I know that I know they are together and in a better place and one day we'll all be together, living with Jesus. As you probably remember my husband was in Lome Togo Africa building a pre fab hosp in a country with NO...

I knew Dr. White when I worked at the old Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital in the 70's. He was quite a character. The first time I spoke with him was an accident - he dialed the wrong extension.

I had heard of Dr. White over the years, so when my 12 year old daughter was struck by a drunk driver and in the hospital we called him in to do a consultation. He said if there was anything he could do if would move her to Metro in a minute, but he thought
there was no hope. Eventually my daughter passed away, but after the funeral he let us come to his office and spoke of her injuries and his thoughts about her case...he even tape recorded it because he said in years to come I would...

Dr. White is very special to our family, because he performed surgery on our daughter May of 1975. After surgery, he said he wished he could bottle up whatever she had in her head, because she shouldn’t have been alive. Her case was very complicated. Dr. White was a very special person in so many ways, but what really touched our hearts was what he said to us. We thanked him for saving our daughter’s life. He replied “Don’t thank me. Go to the nearest chapel, get on your knees and thank...

I never had the chance to meet Dr White personally, but, I have always admired and held Dr White in high respect. A great man and one to be emulated. Another American hero has passed!

I worked with Dr. White in the Neuro
Clinic at Metro every week...he was always a pleasure to work with ... very respectful to patients, families, and the Clinic staff. He was a unique personality. May he rest in peace.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome...
