In the late 1970s Woody ran a full contact "Football Camp" at UC Riverside in California. I was from a very small town out in the California desert in Imperial County. I'd read about the camp and Coach Woody in the LA Times. Camp lasted about a week and it was the toughest one week I ever spent playing football....but it was worth it. It made me a better young man, and certainly, player.
