Robert Wilke, 70, of Wadsworth, IL, formerly of Skokie, IL, peacefully passed away at NorthShore Highland Park Hospital on July 6, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jane Wilke. Robert and Jane were married in Skokie, IL.
Robert attended Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL and graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. He was owner and president of Robert Wilke and Associates.
Music was a paramount part of Robert’s life. Not only did he have a passion for music, but was an audiophile fascinated by pure audio, motivated by sound quality and addicted to audio gadgets. He was a car enthusiast who loved golfing, reading, and enjoying life with family and friends. Robert loved his annual visits to Aruba with Jane, where they always had an amazing time together.
In addition to his wife Jane, he is survived by his brother, Richard (Linda) Wilke; brother-in-law, Melvin Preiss; and many nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elaine Wilke; and his brother-in-law, Frederick Preiss.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s honor to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. Arrangements are entrusted to Gurnee Salata Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave, Gurnee, IL 60031.
