Dr. Robert H. Wilkins

I met Bob in Cambodia when we both attended a medical conference in Feb2001. I was an intern from The Bahamas and he the esteemed Professor, yet we hung out ike travel buddies. I found out about his illustrious career only at the very end of the conference when a speaker introduced him and called him up for a few wise words. I was in awe of finding out that plain ole Bob was really Superman in the medical world. I've told this story to hundreds of trainees since then. A great man indeed...

Dear Betsy and Mrs. Wilkins:

I am so sorry to hear about your dad and husband's passing. I remember him very fondly as a very nice man. I clearly remember days spent in and around the castle-home in Hope Valley -- once raking more leaves than any yard I've every seen. In any case, he struck me as a man of few words, but of compassion, healing and grace.

My prayers and thoughts are with you in this difficult time.
