Robert Edward Williams, a 45-year resident of Newby Court in Springfield, VA, passed away April 19, 2019 in Raleigh, NC from complications associated with dementia. Bob was born January 26, 1934 in Washington, D.C., only child of Robert Williams and Helen Cecelia Cofelt. He attended night school at Strayer College earning an Associateás Degree in Accounting. He retired after 25 years of service with the federal government at NASA, headquartered in Washington, D.C. Bob married his loving wife Barbara Ann Klimeck July 4, 1969 in Connecticut. She preceded him in death January 27, 2005. He is survived by a daughter, Robyn Dezern and husband David of North Carolina; a son Robert A. Williams and wife Brookes of Virginia; and two grandsons, Troy Robert and Alexander Joseph. Bob was a faithful member of Messiah Methodist Church for decades in Springfield, VA. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and loved gardening as well as food buffets.

Glenn and Bob met and became friends shortly after Glenn graduated from college and came to No. VA. to work for the government. I met Bob and Glenn on the same day the last Sat. in Sept, 1962. Bob had a boat that he wanted to take out of the Potomac for the winter and had invited Glenn and his then girl friend to go along with him and his then girl friend for a boat ride before taking it out for the winter. I remember how happy my cousin Barbara was when she brought Bob home to Connecticut to meet the family. She told me he was the most Christian man she had ever met. I was the Maid of Honor at their wedding and visited with them on Newby Court several times even with my husband three years ago.

Bob was very personable, hospitable, friendly and always ready for a good time. I am so happy he was alive yo see Robyn and Rob marry and to see hi two grandsons Troy and Alexander.
