Dear Mrs. Winkleblack,
I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Winkleblack's death.
I had Mr. Winkleblack as my eighth grade teacher at Longfellow School back in 1955-56. He was not only my favorite teacher of all times, but also my first crush, as he was for many of my girlfriends. He was a wonderful teacher and friend. I now live in Olney, Illinois, but I have often asked my mother if he were still around.
