Not sure what to say?

Sorry to hear of Coach Winstead passing. As a young coach at Central High School he was my unofficail mentor. I spent many evenings at his kitchen table learning about the coaching world. Also, trips to the state tournament left me with many fond memories. A good man! Gary Brickman

It was hard seeing this obituary in a headline. My condolences to the Winstead family. I have nothing but great memories of his years at Virginia. He was tough, fair, quietly inspirational, and a sympathetic ear for a kid when they needed one. Very glad he passed my way when he did. Rest in peace, coach.

Sorry to hear of Bob's death. We did not know him well, but saw the love and joy within him during the brief time we knew him. We know he was well loved by family as well as the many whose lives he touched over the years in his coaching. Our sympathy is with you, Audrey, and Pam, and the entire family.

Many prayers to his family, was my coach at Virginia and was Great Man that molded players to be great people and respect others. Rip Coach

Sorry to hear of his passing. Prayers for family. Bob was our football coach in Virginia. We no longer have football at our school. Went every game, best memories. Class of 1982. He was also my drivers Ed teacher. Signed my year book, nick named me jokingly as crash. I didn't in drivers ed. Had few unusual experiences. Told me I had good reflexes. Had someone run a stop sign we both stood on the break. We stopped, both just looked at each other. High school wouldn't been same with out him.

George thought so very much of Bob. They can now talk sports. My sympathy to the family.

Bob was a special person, one of kind. Not only was he my coach he became a friend. Always do your best seemed to be his motto and how he lived. What I learned from him carried me through some trying times. Thanks Bob and Audrey for being there. Visiting you both was always special.
