Not sure what to say?

14 years have passed in a heartbeat. Thinking about the day Jonathan and I gave a hand to Robert as he moved from his apartment on High Street ... as was always the case, it was a great day with the brothers Wise. Love and best wishes to you all wherever 2025 finds you.

I think of you all the time, big brother...the missing pea in my pod. I´ve been playing your guitar, though I´ll never make it sound as good as you did. I celebrated 19 years sober yesterday. Kiss Mom and Mammy for me. I love you.. Elizabeth

Robert.. I miss you, big brother.. I love you.. I celebrated 17 years sober yesterday..❤ Love, Elizabeth

These are beautiful words written by Gary Hassis, Robert's very-longtime friend, and practically another brother to me as well. He emailed this to me last night, and asked that I post it here. Love you Gary..thank you for this:

Remembering Robert

The penultimate time I spoke to Robert was in mid November 2010. I was on the golf course (where else?!) and heard the phone buzz. It was RJ (Jim Tremble’s moniker that stuck. Jim in his singularly clever way had nicknames...

It has taken me a long time to sort out my feelings since I heard the news of Robert's untimely passing. So many memories, so much to reflect on. Robert was that gentle soul, someone who could read poetry and talk for hours. We both had private telephone lines, so that our 'doctor fathers' could keep the home line free.........and we would talk long into the night, often falling asleep with the phone next to our ears, and wake up still on the line. I kept his letters, written from Gould...

I didn't get to know Robert very well, but I admired him very much. It is amazing all the things he experienced and accomplished in his short lifetime. He had a artful style. I remember one Halloween I went to a party he and Laura were having. He came to the door all dressed up and acting suitably halloweenish. I have a video that I will keep to relive the fun of the moment. Laura, he will always be with you in spirit, in your heart and memories. Thank you Lord for letting us all have him...

Robert and Matt 1991

Dear Laura,Kathy and Joe,Elizabeth,Jonathan,Johanna,Nick,Nate, Tom and Sue. I am so saddened and sorry that we have lost Robert. The last time I saw Rob was 1991 when this posted picture of Rob holding my son Matt was taken.I was so grateful to find he had included it in his "Along the Road" album on line.It was such a special moment to see Rob holding my son. Some of the best times of my life were spent with Robert, from hanging out on the roof of the house and feeling like we were on top of...

Robert was one of my best friends growing up. Robert and I met at Garland Street Junior High School. It was the start of a special friendship. I can't begin to think of all of the adventures that we had together and probably would not want to share them anyway. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun together.

I left Bangor in the early 80's and we stayed in touch for a while, but as so often happens, we developed our own lives and the frequency of our communications diminished.
