He traveled with an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. in 2007 with his wife and son. Bob had a passion for small mouth bass and walleye fishing and annual family canoe trips, initiating interested grandchildren as they grew old enough to participate. He also enjoyed his USS Tisdale reunions with his shipmates. Bob was a member of the American Legion and St. Pius X Church.
