I'm the current metal casting and FEF Key Professor at The University of Alabama. Although I did not know Prof. Wright, a year or so ago I came to know that Prof. Wright was in Tuscaloosa. I meant to get in touch with him but I never did. It might have gladdened him to know that metal casting is still alive and well at UA. I would like to extend my condolences to his family.

"RL" is the reason I became a Metallurgical Engineer and his gift for discovery is one I will always cherish. His passion for teaching and uniquely wonderful way of challenging all of his students set him apart from all my professors. He took such great joy in our paths in gaining knowledge... even if it was the thousandth time he had taken it himself.
