Robert A. Wyatt, 91, Indianapolis, former Martinsville resident, passed from this life on February 24, 2011 at 3:09 am at the IU West Hospital in Avon, IN. He was born to the late Versil and Coral A. (Madison) Wyatt on April 3, 1919 in Henry County, Indiana. Mr. Wyatt was a US Army veteran; serving from May 25, 1944 thru April 18, 1946 and he served twelve years in the Indiana Naval Guards. He retired from Indiana Bell Telephone in June 1978 after 37 years as a network maintenance supervisor. He also worked part time at the Painted Hills Utilities in Martinsville until the age of 86. He was a member of the American Legion Post #230, Martinsville and the Telephone Pioneers of America. On February 26, 1961 he married Jane A. (Gallahan) Wyatt; she preceded him in death on November 18, 2003. He is survived by one son, LaWayne Wyatt of Riverside, FL and two daughters, Sandra Wyatt and Gloria Jean Rippy both of Indianapolis, one sister, Frances Smith of New Castle, IN, four grandchildren, Cynthia June and Denise Ann Wyatt, Christy Wicks and Teresa Wilson, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donald J. Wyatt. Friends are welcome to visit on Sunday, February 27th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center. A celebration of life service to be officiated by Rev. John E. Bolin will begin Sunday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.nealandsummers.com.
