Very sad to learn of Dr. Zand's passing. I did my doctoral research under him in the University of Michiagn. He was a great scientist and a special person--kind, funny, genuinely concerned about his students. He was also devoted family man. My condolences to his wife Charlene, children Martin, Joel, Dina, and their families.
