So sorry to see this when scrolling through random people sites. Her daughter was my good friend in high school and, regrettably, we have lost touch.

My best friend when I was a senior in high school was her daughter, Roberta. It was a transitional time in race relations in this country and many schoolmates could not accept a white girl having a black girl as a best friend. I was delighted that Mrs. Alexander accepted me as a friend for her daughter. She was a lovely lady with a beautiful home, a rich academic career teaching and a beautiful demeanor...her daughter, Roberta, who went on to become very successful with her beautiful...

I remember visiting the Alexander home in Wilberforce often when Toni and I were children.
Mrs. Alexander made me feel so welcome. There is a special bond between Wilberforceans that will never be broken.
May the family know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Drink To Me With Thy Eyes Only. The first and only song Mrs. Alexander fought so hard to tech me - I will never forget that. I had some good drinking days since that- but the best reward was the special times spent around a beautiful and carrying person. I will hold a special place in my heart for you!
