ATWELL, Roberta L. "Bert" - Of Fenton and Tawas City, age 66, met heaven's doors on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, May 12, 2006 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation 5-8PM Wednesday, 12-3PM and 5-8PM Thursday at the funeral home. Bert was born in Flint, Michigan on July 11, 1939, the daughter of the late Darrell Woodbury and Ethel Woodbury-Evans. She married Gordon "Jake" Atwell on July 20, 1957 in Flint. Bert was employed and retired from A.C. Spark Plug. She was the former co-owner of Poor Jake's Lounge and she owned Bert's 3 Silk Screening. She worked for the Flint Board of Education and was also a member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge, Foresters and the Croatian Club. Bert loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and she enjoyed camping and fishing. Surviving are husband; Gordon "Jake"; daughter, Denise and husband Patrick Porn of AuGres; brothers, Willis and Kathy Woodbury of St. Helen, Denny Woodbury of Arizona; grandchildren, Michael and wife Kerri Schultz of Fenton, Jennifer Porn and fiancé Lance Wildman of AuGres, Christopher and Angela Porn of AuGres; great-grandchildren, Nathan Schultz of Tennessee, Ethan and Michael Jacob Schultz of Fenton; aunt. Edna Fenner of Swartz Creek, aunt, Evelyn and uncle, Dale Woodbury of Florida; sisters-in-law, Joann Suski of Flushing, Barbara Deckard of Bedford, IN; brother-in-law, Art Brill of Roscommon; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Carl Gentry and Joann Lowe. She was preceded in death by daughter, Dawn M. Schultz; brother, Monty J. Woodbury; stepfather, Mike Evans; nephew, Dave Woodbury and cousin, Ricky Woodbury. Special thanks to the NICU doctors and nurses at Genesys Regional Medical Center.

We were so sorry to hear about Bert.....we haven't seen you folks
for a lomg time but think and speak about you often. You have all our best wishes.

Elmer and I were sorry sorry to hear about Bert. We are all going to miss her smiling face and all the good stories that went with the Woodbury/Atwell family.
