Not sure what to say?

I am just learning of Dr. Butler's death. We became friends as we taught at the same high school during our entry into the career world. Her success mirrors her love for humanity. Dr. Barbara Smith, Stone Mountain, Ga

Robbie would be pleased to know that today on this sad anniversary her Harcourt colleagues are gathering for our annual picnic reunion at beautiful Chrissy Field by the bay in San Francisco. Kind thoughts of her ... and to her family

I worked with Robbie at Harcourt Brace Jovanovich starting in 1979 in San Francisco. We became friends ... and I was friends with her good friend Trisha ... I am stunned to hear this news, but I wish all of Robbie's family and friends love and comfort. She was a brilliant and beautiful person ... and a good friend to my budding editorial self. Godspeed, then.

I loved my dear cousin, Robbie. She had such a passion for life and things that mattered. She is missed dearly. I pray for her husband, Matt. I know she had a great love for him.

So very sad to hear this about my sweet high school friend May she rest in peace❤

I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss. And may your family find comforted love and strength and with the support of family and friends at this time.

Sorrow makes us all children again- destroys all differences of intellect. The wisest knows nothing. Ralph Waldo Emerson
With deepest sympathy to Robbie's family.

I never knew or met Dr. Butler, but I feel a kinship to her because she was a bibliophile and was born in 1949, the same year that I was.

With condolences to her loved ones,
