Dear Walter and Carlson Family,
I learned this morning of Roberta's passing. Please know that the Harkness family is holding all of you close to our hearts at this time. I will always be grateful for the warmth and friendship you and Roberta extended to my parents when they first moved to Scandia Shores. I always enjoyed coming to visit and having a chat with Roberta while she wrote the the "thought for the day" in the lobby. Her optimism, humor and gracious manner always brightened...

Walt and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Roberta. The Carlsons have been such an important part of our family for so many years. I still remember the first time the Nohres met the Carlsons. We were moving to St. Paul and you invited us to stay in your house while you were on vacation so we could get familiar with the Big City. You got back and the rest is history...
I know how much my parents loved you and Roberta and how many good times you had together. My guess is...

Dick (son #4)
Mom, it's going to be hard to know that I won't see your messages in my inbox in the morning. You found email a few years ago, and jumped into the wave with both feet -- what a great way to talk to your grandkids.
I became a teacher because of you, and you were my best teacher. I'm gonna miss you.

Walt and Family,
So sorry to hear of Roberta's death. I have so many fond memories of both you and Roberta. One of my favorite memories is hearing her tell about how she and her sisters would sing together on the radio.
I will miss her singing, her smile and her enduring cheerfulness. She lived her life trusting the Lord and she faced her death with that same faith.
May all of you know God's comfort as you grieve.

Grandma,
It's hard to know what to say at a time like this, but I know that whatever I say will turn out okay in the end.
Thank you for being such a good grandma to me, you were always there for me to talk to and listen to. We sure shared a lot of laughs over the years, and I'm grateful for that. Whenever times are tough, laughing seems to make things better, even if it's just for a short while.
I know that you are in a better place right now, and are smiling down on your...
