Roberta Dean Franklin

Roberta Dean Franklin, 84 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Monday, August 23, 2010, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, Missouri. Born Saturday, July 17, 1926 in Mayview, Missouri. she was the daughter of Harry Heiple and Bertha Pitzer Heiple. She lived in Mayview, Missouri until moving to Higginsville in 1992. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Mayview. She married Virgil M. Franklin January 23, 1945. He preceded her in death November 1991. Also preceded in death are her parents, two sons, Jimmy Wayne Franklin and Larry Eugene Franklin; and two sisters, Doris Stulken and Betty Richey. Surviving are two sons, Virgil D. (Sabra) Franklin of Odessa, Missouri and Wade(Tina) Franklin of Oak Grove, Missouri; two daughters, Patricia(Lester) Fox of Mayview; and Geraldine(Paul) Ransdell of Mayview; two brothers, Buddy(Lois) Heiple of Independence, Missouri; and Ed(Jan) Heiple of Lone Jack, Missouri; six sisters, Jesse Farley of Higginsville; Marguerite(Olan) Karl of Independence; Sissy Wilson of Odessa; Shirley Carter of Warrensburg, Missouri; Esther(Frank) Smith of Bevier, Missouri; and Barbara Sordan of Mayview; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday at Hoefer Chapel, 1600 Main St. Higginsville with Rev. Bret Pritchard officiating. Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Interment will be in City Cemetery, Higginsville. Memorial contributions may be sent to Crossroads Hospice. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
