Not sure what to say?

In error I mentioned that Roberta possessed a master´s degree in medieval literature. Incorrect. She earned an MS in biochemistry. She employed her scientific mind and training to gaining mastery over research in both Greek mythology and Medieval history and culture. I hope you can update my post! Thank you.

Here it is eight years after her passing and I have just found out lovely, fun, brilliant Roberta is gone. I stayed with her and Charles following a Romance Writers conference in NYC. Roberta took that honed scientific mind and turned it to the research of, for example, the marriage customs of the Middle Ages, a natural topic for a writer who´d earned a graduate degree in chemistry as well as Medieval literature. After some back-and-forth about our writing careers (hers advanced and mine...

I am so sorry to hear of Ms. Gellis' passing. I have been reading (and rereading and rereading) her books for decades. I loved them and admired her. I lost of of my original copies of her books when our farm and home were flooded in May 2016. Fortunately, I had purchased the Kindle versions when I got my first Kindle years ago. She was an incredible lady and talented writer. She will be missed.

I have been enjoying her wonderful writing and was sad to learn of her passing. What an amazing woman who contributed so much to life. I thank her for all the enjoyment she has created which continues on. I wish her Godspeed and much happiness in her adventures ahead.

Mark: I have some photos of your parents and mine from the early days. I also have some photos of you when you visited our house in Smithtown. I sent many to your mom (and she said she was going to share them with you) but if you'd like them/more, please don't hesitate to contact me: [email protected] I hope you are doing ok. Grief takes its own time. ~Lois Guarino

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Roberta was a part of me and my life. In 1990 when my father was dying of cancer I wrote to her about his condition. He was also a very big fan of her work. I remembered about 4-6 weeks before he passed that he was saddened that she had not replied to his letter - that's when I wrote a letter to her explaining how much it would mean to him in his final weeks. She brought him his last bit of happiness.
When I was visiting soon afterwards (I lived 5 hours away but came every weekend). ...

Dear Mark: I'm so very sorry to learn of your mom's passing. I have stayed in touch with her over the years and remember fondly the days in Roslyn and at my family's house in Smithtown. My mom, Elly Guarino, cherished her friendship with your parents and those early days in her marriage when your parents and mine were next door neighbors in Brooklyn. My heart goes out to you. ~ Lois Guarino

I have enjoyed her books from many years. She had such a knack for bringing history to life. Such a loss.
