Not sure what to say?

I just heard of Berta's passing to be with the LORD while vacationing in Olympia/Seattle. I'd just found an old letter from her from Des Moines a week before our trip and was looking her up with hopes to see her again. Lost touch a while after her move and ours to the South. So thankful to still be able to send my condolences at this late date. Miss Berta was a sweet and giving lady, a friend to me and like a grandmother to my children. We met at First United Methodist Church of Olympia and...

I miss Berta so much; many fond memories as friend and neighbor on Mud Bay.

I just found out about Berta's passing while updating various family tree's. Although late, my condolences to your families. Berta had one of the brightest personalities I have ever seen and was always helpful and a good resourse at the two family reunions I attended in the 1980's and 90's the last one being at Jane Allen Rogers in Port Townsend. I have researched the Whitner & Allen Families that are part of the Ide Family resourse collection that is contributed to the Ide book in PA and...

Berta and Jim -- Sweetest neighbors on Eld Inlet for many years and cherished friends from First United Methodist Church of Olympia. My fondest and warmest memories for all of the remaining family.

I still have fond memories of Mud Bay and even more of hearing my mom talk so fondly over the years about her beloved friend Roberta and the fun they had together in their many decades of friendship--60 yrs? In moving my mom once in mid December within Panorama City in Lacey ,WA and again in February back to Spokane I lost time to respond to the family. Take care of each other! Nan Comeaux Luppert

My mother, Patricia Gallagher Shaw, was a good friend of Roberta's.I remember our Shaw family having a wonderful time as guests of the Hamby's at their Montesano home. It was especially fun hearing their jokes about the origin of city names in that area of Washington. Wish I could remember all of them.
Roberta will be greatly missed! We send our heartfelt condolences to the Hamby family! Dan Shaw and family

I always enjoyed talking with Roberta and Jim. Really nice folks. It's in their attitude; positive and encouraging.

Loved singing with Bertha at church! Always smiling...always!

Mrs. Hamby was my girl scout leader many years ago in Montesano. She was a great inspiration to the young girls in the group and made a great impact on my life. I am glad that she was a part of my younger years and I know that many people have fond and loving memories of her including myself.
