Read MoreI loved (Bertie) as we knew her. She was organist for us at LaPorte United Methodist Church and I was secretary. We were ver close and had lunches together, long talks, and her smile was contagious. She was like sunshine walking in a room. I moved to Florida but we still kept in touch. Beautiful memories.

I was secretary at LaPorte United Methodist Church in Elyria Ohio and was responsible for hiring her. We became friends and have kept in touch all the years after LaPorte, I've lived in Florida last 8 years. When I didn't receive a Christmas card I suspected something was wrong and saw where she passed. I'm so sorry and Tim must have died in 2017 also. Did Bertie's cancer return?
